Cast-in-place (CIP) concrete pipe was deteriorating and needed to be replaced adjacent to the Madera Municipal Airport.

PRODUCTS USED

The Madera Irrigation District chose to replace the pipe with SaniTite HP, which is manufactured from polypropylene and has a long service life.

Madera Irrigation District excavated the CIP concrete pipe and replaced it directly with the SaniTite HP, which was specified for the project, in the same trench. By utilizing this method, the Madera Irrigation District was able to install 300’ (91 m) of pipe per day.

SaniTite HP was utilized for the conveyance due to the connectivity of the storm drain to the irrigation network. System pressure fluctuations within the irrigation network required SaniTite HP to be used due to its strength and patented extended, reinforced bell with polymer composite bands and dual gaskets that allow for an additional factor of safety within each joint.
