HP Storm Saves Time & Money in Central Valley Right-of-Way
Teichert Construction installed storm conveyance pipe for newly constructed stormwater infrastructure projects in California’s Central Valley right-of-way.

PRODUCTS USED

For the project, Teichert requested that 24” and 30” (600 and 750 mm) HP Storm pipe, manufactured from polypropylene, be utilized rather than reinforced concrete pipe (RCP).

The City of Fresno approved the substitution request because of its familiarity with the pipe. HP Storm, which is manufactured in Madera, CA, provided significant cost savings and installation time, which convinced all reviewing agencies to approve and proceed with the pipe substitution.

HP Storm polypropylene pipe provides a greater pipe stiffness for a longer service life and a premium joint performance. The smooth interior wall offers additional strength as well as superior flow. Polypropylene is an inert material and is resistant to the effects of chemicals, abrasion, hot soils and effluent.
