HP Storm Used to Upsize Pipe Along California State Route 46
When preparing to install 13,000' of storm drainage pipe along California State Route 46, Granite Construction requested to use HP Storm pipe as a substitute for reinforced concrete pipe, which was specified for the project.

PRODUCTS USED

Granite Construction’s request for HP Storm, manufactured from polypropylene, was due to their familiarity with the product.

HP Storm was used to replace metal and RCP that had deteriorated. In addition, the HP Storm allowed for the pipe to be upsized in order to increase storm drainage capacity.

HP Storm provided significant installation cost and time savings, a 100-year design life and minimal lead time due to it being manufactured in nearby Madera, CA. Since HP Storm was made nearby, it provided significant cost and schedule savings due to fewer truck loads of product and less travel distance along a key Central California transportation route
