The EnviroHood Sell Sheet contains information about the Nyloplast® EnviroHood™, a stormwater management device designed to prevent the outflow of floating debris and oil from a catch basin or manhole.
The Nyloplast EnviroHood prevents debris and oil from entering our lakes, rivers and streams. The need for cleaner stormwater has caused municipal leaders to demand forward-thinking solutions to improve the overall water quality of stormwater. Dirty and contaminated stormwater contributes greatly to water pollution. The Nyloplast EnviroHood offers a cost-effective way to improve overall stormwater quality, providing lower installed costs and less intrusive installations than competitive devices in the market.
The Nyloplast EnviroHood is engineered for optimal performance & uses the same proven corrugation technology used on ADS N-12 pipe products. This delivers maximum strength to weight ratio and ensures the structure is capable of supporting the hydraulic forces of a rainfall event.
The Nyloplast EnviroHood is molded from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) with a lightweight and sturdy design. The corrugated design eliminates flat surfaces and provides increased structural capacity.
It is an effective low-cost solution for stormwater treatment & easy to clean. The Nyloplast EnviroHood is highly corrosion-resistant for long service life.
This document includes specifications for the EnviroHood, which is used in stormwater conveyance systems. The requirements are: all hoods shall be constructed of polyethylene, the size and position of the hood shall be determined by the outlet & pipe size as per manufacturer’s recommendation. The bottom of the hood shall extend downward a minimum distance of 6” (15 cm) for pipes < 12” (30 cm). Installation hardware and instructions are provided by the manufacturer. Installation will be in accordance with Nyloplast installation procedures and those issued by local building/construction regulations.
A diagram with a typical installation and a chart is provided listing structure type, the outlet covered, the part number and general dimensions.
