This document is the Drain Basin Construction Protection Detail (Buried Structure Nyloplast Detail). It shows the drain basin illustration with descriptions.

The 8” – 36” drain basin illustration shows the flag, cone or other indicator to mark structure location, metal plate or plywood to cover opening of grate when buried, recommended cover material that should be crushed stone or other granular material, final grade, integrated ductile iron frame & grate/cover to match basin and backfill material that should be crushed stone or other granular material.

Note 1 states that grates/solid covers shall be ductile iron per ASTM A536, grade 70-50-05. Note 2 states that frames shall be ductile iron per ASTM A536, grade 70-50-05. Note 3 says that drain basin to be custom manufactured. Note 4 states that cover material shall conform to manufacturers recommendation to support vehicle traffic and cover the structure a minimum of 6”.
