This document is the 36" x 30" Ductile Iron Reducing Plate Informational Sheet.

The Nyloplast® 36” x 30” (900 mm x 750 mm) ductile iron reducing plate is an updated design that will allow for more shallow installations compared to the previous PVC reducing cone design. The previous design required approximately 27” (675 mm) from grade to top of pipe. The new design will allow for an approximate minimum depth of 6” (150mm) from grade to top of pipe after field adjustments. Although this ductile iron design provides a shallower profile, the material is much more durable and will be able to withstand loads and stresses the structure will encounter in H-20/HS-20 traffic applications.

The Nyloplast 36” x 30” reducing plate will be cast from ductile iron that shall conform to ASTM A536 grade 70-50-05 and will be painted with a black lead free paint.

Applying the new reducing plate is as simple as placing the bottom flared section over the 36” body. The round plate is designed to have an inside diameter that closely matches the diameter of the 36” basin body. The top portion of the reducing plate will provide a round spigot that matches the diameter of the 30” Nyloplast structure to allow Nyloplast 30” castings to properly fit.
