The City of Sacramento old rail yard hub was identified as a development site for a future soccer stadium, housing and commercial buildings, while preserving the old brick rail buildings.

PRODUCTS USED

The land was highly contaminated and required to be remediated to be used. As part of the development, storm drain and sanitary sewer utilities were required. Both storm and sanitary sewer systems utilized SaniTite HP polypropylene pipe. Since SaniTite HP is chemically resistant, it was a perfect choice for the contaminated soil.

SaniTite HP was also chosen over reinforced concrete pipe due to lower costs, ease of installation and availability, since the pipe is manufactured in Madera, CA. SaniTite HP is manufactured from polypropylene and offers robust pipe stiffness. The increased pipe stiffness was important for the project as burial depths were 15’ (4.57 m).
