In designing a new warehouse, Advanced Drainage Systems worked closely with McClure Engineering for parking lot and dock stormwater runoff.

PRODUCTS USED

McClure had utilized Duraslot successfully on smaller projects, so the engineer specified Duraslot for the warehouse.

By using a slot drain, the lot's flat area could drain efficiently without drastic changes in grade to a traditional catch basin. This allows for a smoother driving surface for the dock areas and reduces ponding. To achieve this, 30" (750 mm) Duraslot was chosen for the project and was installed with variable height risers. Although McClure had previous Duraslot experience, it was the first time Pyramid Contracting had utilized Duraslot and the installation went smoothly.

In addition to the Duraslot, a number of other ADS products were utilized, highlighting the fact ADS can provide the total stormwater solutions package. Four 36" (900 mm) Nyloplast drain basins were used for first capture of roof drainage. Conveyance of the stormwater was handled by 4,340' (1,323 m) of 8"-48" (200-1,200 mm) N-12 dual wall pipe. In addition, 3,300' (1,006 m) of 6" Single Wall perforated pipe with sock was installed as underdrain for the building's perimeter.
