WISY Vortex Filters

Designed to separate solids from harvested water. Depending on the model, a single unit can filter precipitation off of up to 5,500 square feet or 33,000 square feet of roof area to be reused for site irrigation, toilet, and urinal flushing, janitorial use, laundry, fire protection, evaporative cooling tower make-up, process water or other non-potable uses.

Overview

Pre-tank filtration is one of the most important steps of rainwater harvesting, as it prevents unfiltered water from contaminating the rainwater storage system, promoting a healthy tank environment and reducing maintenance needs. Polyethylene or pressure-rated stainless steel units are available, depending on application needs.

Features and Benefits

  • High filtration efficiency: Designed to filter high volumes of water from roof areas up to 5,500 or 33,000 square feet.
  • Minimal maintenance: Pre-tank filters prevent debris larger than 380 microns from entering rainwater systems, allowing for clean systems and less maintenance over time.
  • Durability: Constructed of polyethylene or stainless steel, these units are engineered for longevity.
  • Scalable: Different models support different roof sizes. Multiple units can be used to handle larger catchment areas.
  • High flow rates: During extreme weather events the open cross-sectional design ensures there is no constriction that might choke flow during heavy storms with large debris loads.
